What Is An AWeber Autoresponder?

What is an Aweber autoresponder used for might be a simple question or is it? I began my journey with online marketing early January 2019. To say i knew little about the online world is an understatement. Watched a few YouTube video’s on successful affiliate marketers is the most I had achieved.

Wealthy Affiliate:

My first encounter with the concept of affiliate marketing was to join the Wealthy Affiliate platform. The Best decision I have ever made in that regards,

This platform helps you with the training on the how’s and why’s of affiliate marketing. Within the (WA) platform their was various training on email autoresponders and the many benefits of having one. The main one is the cost to (ROI) return of investment.

At the 6-month mark of my Wealthy Affiliate membership I decided to sign up for an autoresponder to go that next step.

AWeber Not My First Choice:

I chose AWeber after hearing and speaking to others who are currently using AWeber and are satisfied with what they have to offer.

AWeber was not the first choice email autoresponder on my radar.

I personally reviewed various autoresponders such as Sendinblue, Mailchimp and Hubspot to name a few on my blog.

I am 5 months in on my subscription with AWeber. First month is free to begin with which is always good. Like all autoresponders that are any good will give you.

You need that first month to feel your way around their interface. Look around in the first couple of weeks for the different options. Plenty of templates and colour options to choose from.

What’s It Cost:

Let’s get straight down to it and give you the price breakdown below.

  • AWeber costs $19 per month for up to 500 subscribers
  • $29 per month for up to 2,500 subscribers
  • $49 per month for 5,000
  • $149 per month for up to 25,000 subscribers
  • There is no free plan, but a free trial period of 30 days
  • All pricing tiers include the same features

Success Pays:

The more successful you are the more you pay.

Sounds fair to me.

All autoresponders work on this principle.

You Get What You Pay For:

The only email responder i know of which is free is Mailchimp. I did sign up for their free option.

Let’s say you don’t get much for free if you know what i mean.OK you are on a budget.

You Got To Know Your Limitations:

We all have our limits you sometimes have to take the cheapest option at first. Once you have an email list to talk about. You can migrate this list to AWeber or whoever takes your fancy. Another feature from AWeber is the ability to add an affiliate link and make a commission on all new sign ups.

All you need to do is pretty much what I’m doing right now. That is promote them as an option worth considering. As I said before I was given the recommendation from fellow (WA) members.

Listen To Others:

When your new to the affiliate marketing business what are your alternatives but to listen to others. Seriously no one is forcing you to choose one over the other.

There are no long term contracts involved. You can stop at anytime if they are not what you expected. From what i have learned in my first year of affiliate marketing is you should have an email autoresponder of some kind.

Email autoresponder

What does Aweber do?

Aweber tools allow you to:

  • import and host a mailing list and capture data onto it using sign-up forms
  • create e-newsletters (both HTML and plain text) which can be sent to your subscribers
  • automate your messaging to subscribers via use of email autoresponders
  • review statistics related to your email marketing campaigns – open rate, click through, forwards etc.

Autoresponders are e-newsletters that are sent to your mailing list subscribers at predefined intervals.

For example, you can set them up so that straight after somebody signs up to your list, they receive a welcome or ‘onboarding’ message from your business;

A week later they could receive a promo code for specific products; two weeks later they could receive an encouragement to follow you on social media.

The idea behind autoresponders is that much of your email marketing gets automated.

It’s a sort of ‘set and forget’ scenario that saves you the bother sending out e-newsletters manually (although you can still of course do this as and when required).

Opt-In Process:

There are two ways you can add subscribers to a mailing list: using a ‘single opt-in’ or a ‘double opt-in’ process.

When you use a single opt-in process, the person completing your sign-up form is added to your mailing list immediately. With a double opt-in process, the person signing up to your list is emailed containing a confirmation link that he or she must click before they are subscribed.

The main benefits of a single opt-in process are that

  • it makes it easy for users to subscribe
  • it generally improves conversion rates and leads to more people joining your list

A double opt-in process is better for

  • keeping ‘spam’ and ‘fake’ email addresses to a minimum (because everybody on the list effectively has to prove that their email addresses are real)
  • improving the accuracy of reports (because open rates are based on the actions of subscribers with real email addresses, not a bunch of fake emails).

Split Testing:

Split testing allows you to try out different subject headers or content on sample data to see which works best. For example, you could send two versions of your e-newsletter to 10% of your subscribers, analyse the results (i.e., open / click through rates) and send out the best-performing version to the remainder of people on your list.

If you have a large mailing list, use of split testing can lead to significant improvements to your open and click through rates, so many e marketing tools automate the process for you.

Reasons to use Aweber:

  • You get crucial autoresponder functionality at a much lower price point with Aweber.
  • You can code your own templates on any Aweber plan.
  • Autoresponders are easy to set up.
  • There are more 700 templates available in Aweber.
  • No send limits apply.
  • Although Aweber’s user interface is more ‘old-school’ and not as pretty as some it’s arguably a bit easier to use and key features are more readily accessible.
  • The e-newsletter builder makes editing text easier
  • You get access to a library of stock images with Aweber that you can use in your mail outs for free.
  • You can send to multiple lists in Aweber.
  • The Aweber support options are more extensive — phone support, email support and live chat are available on all plans.

In Closing:

You may have heard of the saying six of one and half a dozen of another. All I am saying is they all appear to be doing much the same.

Sure if you are a large business you will need far more reporting analytics. For the newbie to the game. AWeber will be more than enough to get you on your way to making millions.

  2. I have started my blog some months ago and up until this point I had been focusing solely on creating content. I’m not a very good writer and these initial months we challenging. But now I begun to research about other things I should do on my site, and I discover I should be collecting emails from day 1. Aweber is a platform that has been popping up a lot in my research. Thank you very much for explaining about it.
