How To Avoid The Common Traps In Blogging:

1. Writing nonsense instead of writing answers to questions your consumers have.

You have not undergone keyword search or asked your clients what they want to know first. You may be thinking that blogs are just like diaries online. With these beliefs, all you write about is you, your life and other related details.

You are actually drifting away from your target. You are contradicting the business building tool capability of your blog.

2. You pretend to be an expert in order to build more credibility In reality, you do not have any idea about the blogging software you are using. You can blame this part on the new technology being used on blogging that you are not an expert on.

But that is not reason enough. You need to research and learn more about how to use your blog features before you even start one. Get to know how to make use of your blogs for visibility and accessibility over the Internet.

Have a basic knowledge about track backs and permanent link features. They will prove important and necessary.

3. No blog Category. The readers are confused about what topics are you writing about. They do not have any idea what they are getting into.

They probably would not even attempt to find yours if they have to guess first what it is you are trying to say. What is your main message?

Your focus? What will be in your blog that your readers can benefit from? Try to answer these questions.

4. Your blog does not reflect you and your business. Your blog is a mess and your customers cannot seem to find any similarity between your blog and your business. Your blog should be an extension of your business.

Make your customers feel like they are doing business with you in the comfortable ambiance of your office. Your blogs should reflect your business image.

5. You have no idea about other blogs in the same field. You do not spend time looking at other blogs to see what is being written about and to see the strategies that others are using.

You do not know what is happening on the market. Blogging takes commitment. You have to let your readers know that you are present and that they are able to contact you through your blogs. Give some of your time to your blogs.

6. Your blogs have no appropriate contents posted. If all you ever have in your blogs are advertising and marketing about your products, expect your customers to get bored, go away and never come back.

They have had enough of sales being presented to them. Spare them the sales talk. Try to write something not about what you are offering. Find other related topics you can talk about.

7. You have not visited your blog site for some time. One of the sins in blogging is not updating what is written. Expect to lose the traffic you have been getting. If you are not doing anything about your blog, why have one in the first place?

You and your blog

SEO – Has Many Answers To Blogging:

Blogging works best for the SEO as it is the one of the most effective tools to make your website popular among the people.

If your website is popular it will generate more revenues as more and more people will visit your site.

You can follow these simple rules for SEO and your blog will definitely rank much higher in search engines. You should use your primary keyword most often in your blogs.

The URL that you post on the blogs should contain a primary keyword to optimize your website. You can also use the main keyword in sub domains to get better results.

In case your website is about automotive parts then you can use the keywords Automotive Parts in your website. It is necessary to use your main keyword in the title of your posts and the titles of your web pages. Use the main keywords and key phrases in your H1 and H2 headers to make them more searchable.

Next you can use your secondary keywords in the body of your post in the blog. The more times the keywords are found in the web page or post, the better are the chances of the search engines will be able to pick up the keywords.

However, it should not look like spam. You should refrain from posting the same keywords again and again this is called keyword stuffing.

Google may place a filter to reduce your site rankings for some time. Your rankings will fall drastically. They may ban you if the problem is severe.

You should also use your primary and secondary as much as possible in the anchor texts for linking the text to other blog sites or other blog posts. Makes every effort to make your site easier for search engine to track.

It is very much necessary to make your navigation bar of the whole website on every page of the website. All your previous posts should be linked to all pages so that they can be easily search able by search engines. You should also create back links to your website on as many blogs as possible.

This is because it will help a lot in getting the rank of your website higher in the search engine pages. The more links you have created the higher will be the rank of your website on search engines.

You can get back links to your website is to submit your blog and RSS feeds to as many blog search engines and blog directories as possible. Exchange your links with other blogs and network with as many people as possible on the blogs.

If you find any interesting information on a blog then dont forget to link it. The track back will become a link to your blog after some time. In the end to optimize search engine results for your website you should update your blog frequently.

In Closing:

So these are only some of the ways of Blogging. Blogging has lot of potential and you can do it, if you are a good researcher and if you really love to write. If this the case then Blogging is right for you and you can earn good revenue out of your own site, just like every one else.

  1. Hi
Thank you so much for explaining need to blog or not. You actually clear all my doubts and i deeply understood this topic. I completely agree that blogging is excellent for SEO both on ones website. Surely the key is ones blog needs to have engaging topics written professionally. If you are not great at writing then the best is to use a freelance copywriter combined with your ideas.

    • Hello Jordan,

Appreciate you taking the time to read my post.

You are spot on about writing good content.

All the rest will fall in to place.

      Regards Shane.

  2. Apart from the too long title, i found your site to be very full, long, long pages of information and very informative, it must have taken you a long time to build, and i fear that most of it will not be read by most people which is a shame. Still, well done for a thoughtful and informative site.

    • Hello Andy,

Thank you for reading my post.

      Appreciate the feedback you gave.

As long as you enjoyed it is all that matters.

      Regards Shane.

  3. Blogging is a fantastic way to connect with an audience, and by blogging with your own site you can get traffic directed straight to you instead of just being followed on social media like Twitter.

For me the best thing about blogging is that I get to express my opinion about a certain topic with the rest of the world and if I’m lucky enough someone somewhere will land on my blog, enjoy what I’ve written and then hopefully make a comment and engage in conversation.

It takes time effort and perseverance, but everything that’s worth doing does so.

  4. This is good information for people struggling to decide if they want to blog or not. The information concerning avoiding traps in blogging is good advice, especially getting proper keyword search done and not stray off from niche topic chosen. Did not know Google will ban your site if a keyword is used twice in the same post. Do blog tags count has keywords also?

    • Hello Jannette,

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Glad to hear you got something out of the article.

Will have to look over my post about being banned for using keywords twice as this is not the case.

Keywords can be used as long as they feel natural and not used as keyword stuffing which has no value to the customer.

      Sorry to mislead you.

The worse thing google would do is not index the article on there search engines until you fixed the error.

      Regards Shane.

  6. Blogging is a very nice job to get doing, but with every caution, you will need to go about your activities. So many bloggers make the common mistakes of posting too many ads on their site and its always very annoying to get these pop-ups while reading something. The non-availability of quality content on one’s site would always be an issue that needs to be settled if you will want to keep being a blogger. Best regards.

    • Hello Benson,

      Thank you for your comments.

Ads can be annoying for sure.

I agree good content is the most important part of your blog.

      Regards Shane.
